The study reveals geographical features, typical objects and types of work, as well as the role of public works in supporting infrastructure, social assistance and conditions of war. Special attention is paid to atypical and socially significant practices, participation in humanitarian and defense initiatives, as well as challenges related to security, accounting, and formalism. The review demonstrates that community service can be not only a form of punishment, but also a tool for resocialization and real benefit to communities.
